Hey AAS,
thanks for the kind mention! It’s good to know that you don’t disapprove of my unauthorized use of your artwork! 🙂
The announcement of the Crossfire card game, which came ouf of nowhere, has made me somewhat nervous. A revival of the old TCG might now appear detrimental to CGL’s commercial interests, which is why I really haven’t pursued my blog any further… What would be your take on this? I mean it’s not like there are more than handful of people who still play the old TCG…
Being a big fan of your SR work (!), I am also happy to hear you’re involved in Crossfire. From what I’ve seen so far, though, the Crossfire card layout and illustration seem somewhat lackluster. Particularly the gear looks like it’s been taken straight from the Street Samurai Catalog from 1990 (http://www.shadowruntabletop.com/2013/07/crossfire-why-i-like-to-play-the-street-samurai-simplicity-with-versatility/)! No offense intended but surely CGL can do better than this!? Don’t get me wrong, I am really holding my breath for the final product, as a new great card game would be plain awesome!

Thanks for posting here! 🙂 Unfortunately, my involvement with Crossfire is 1 illustration so far, and I have no deeper knowledge about ANYTHING regarding this game — so, I really can’t comment. From my POV, trading cards „should“ be a risky venture, given the great amount of artwork needed (artwork is expensive, even if you have artists willing to work in-part for Karma 😉 ), but since trading card games seem to do well economically, maybe I’m wrong. In any case, since Crossfire is a new game and no one knows if the SR fans and TCG fans or even fans of SRO and SRR will pick it up, I think CGL would be best advised to „recycle“ some artwork. From what I have seen of this game, it looks very promising, so I am positive about it.
